OUR HISTORY
Shandon Travel was founded in 1974, when Michael Doorley opened his very first outlet on Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork, employing just one other member of staff. During the next 50 years, Shandon Travel expanded- taking over two other travel companies with offices in Dublin Airport, Clonakilty and Bantry.
In addition to our two West Cork Travel offices, the Shandon Travel HQ (including Cruise Centre and SAYIT Travel for 18-35) is located on Cork's Grand Parade, just opposite the English Market, Customers from all over the country have access to our experienced staff via email, phone, video chat and live chat. WEST CORK TRAVEL
Shandon Travel took over 2 locations under the West Cork Travel brand in 2006, where we have very experienced local teams including: in Clonakilty- Rose (Manager), Caroline & Lynda, and in Bantry- Dianne (Manager), Nicola & Clare. SAYIT J1, CAMP USA & SAYIT TRAVEL FOR 18-35
Our SAYIT Travel team are our specialists in travel aimed at 18-35. Give back with a volunteer programme, or hop a flight with our great value special air fares.
For many years only one company in Ireland offered the coveted J1 visa for the USA, until Doorley broke the exclusivity in 2001. The SAYIT brand is now recognised by college students as having the best service in processing the J1 USA work and Travel visa. SAYIT also offers the Camp USA programme: Camp USA is a summer residential camp programme for young American kids. There are a number of types of camps that offer lots of activities, and they like to hire Irish staff. This programme is not confined to students and is open to suitable candidates between the ages of 18- 28.
