Our cruise manager, Ken, spent last night onboard Princess Cruises' beautiful Regal Princess as she was docked in Cobh. Read about his experience:
"It’s a sunny morning in Cobh and the stunning Regal Princess is docked for an overnight visit to Cork. This ship from Princess Cruises has the capacity for 3560 guests and 1346 crew. It has 1400 balconies, and a glass-floor walkway called the Seawalk which extends 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship. And the famously tranquil Sanctuary spa, a retreat reserved for adults.
Regal Princess is a beautiful ship. Its design is classic, but still has all the modern high tech facilities one would expect. I was lucky enough to be treated to dinner in one of the speciality restaurants called Sabatinis, an Italian restaurant, which was superb. Four courses, each bigger than the next. Superb.
What makes Princess stand out for me, besides the beautiful interiors and cabins, is the Princess Medallion. Princess Medallion is a coin size wearable device which enables everything from faster boarding to locating your friends anywhere on the ship, as well as enhanced services like having whatever you need, delivered. I was able to sit anywhere on the ship, browse the menu on the Princess app, select what drink and food I wanted, and it was delivered within minutes to where I was sitting.
There is also plenty of nightlife onboard. The Plaza, which is at the centre of the ship, was buzzing with live music and dancing all night. Followed by a DJ playing at Club 6 into the early hours.
Regal Princess is suitable for all ages. From live entertainment to wonderful restaurants and movies under the stars. And of course, the Lotus spa. You won’t be disappointed."
