Read Suzanne's blog about her family's stays at the wonderful Vilanova Park campsite:

"A family favourite…what can I say? This campsite is a firm favourite of ours…and we leave always wanting to go back for more!

It's so easy to get to. We have flown into both Barcelona Reus and El Prat airports. We always book the airport transfer, so the rep meets us at the terminal and 45 minutes later we are at the campsite checking in. If our mobile home isn’t ready when we arrive, we usually have a nice al-fresco coffee in the main restaurant/ bistro area and take a morning swim.

Guests can also take a train from the airport to El Prat de LLobregat, and from there take another train to Vilanova i la Gletrú station. From Vilanova Station, take the local bus to the campsite. This service runs to about 21.00, after that you should take a taxi or even better- book the transfer.

Helpful hint- don’t forget to pack a small bag with swimsuits, towels and suncream so you can start your holiday the minute you arrive!

Vilanova Park has everything on its doorstep, so no car is needed. A local bus goes every 20 mins from the campsite entrance to /from the beach and local town and markets etc.

You can easily enjoy a day in Barcelona, which we did with a soccer-mad 12-year-old. We visited FC Barcelona’s stadium, Camp Nou, and finished with some leisurely tapas on the Ramblas while waiting on the bus back to the campsite. It was hassle-free and a great day out in Barcelona. This bus runs as a daily service, leaving early morning and back early evening- just in time for the nightly entertainment programme. 

If you do want to hire a car, you can rent one from the campsite reception- it's just a short drive to the Penedès wine region. We toured the wineries and had a fantastic lunch there. Another brilliant day trip option is one of the campsite's organised tours to Port Aventura Theme Park. It was a definite highlight and so easy to do!

I would also recommend hiring a boat at reception. It couldn’t be easier, you can take it out into the harbour for a fun-filled afternoon. It's a chance to capture some great pics too… and some wonderful memories.

Vilanova campsite has everything needed for a great holiday. There are wonderful pool areas with entertainment, sun loungers and patio terraces. Enjoy ice cream, tapas or even a local beer, and relax while enjoying the beautiful views from the pool terrace. We also really enjoyed the themed music nights here, and sometimes morning yoga too!

When my son was younger, the kiddies club was a must. Situated in the heart of the campsite, it's filled with toys, games and a full entertainment programme for kids. Another favourite for all is the numerous soccer events running throughout the day and into the evening. The evening tournaments are a must for my soccer-crazy son.

For convenience, ease of access and guaranteed fun for all ages- you’ll never want to leave…in fact, we are booked to go back again in June!"
